DBE Certification Help & Contractor Resources

CaliforniaUCP.org is a free, independent resource. We help California small businesses get and keep their DBE certification, and we publish plain-English guides on the requirements that come with bidding public contracts. We are not a government agency and do not issue certifications.

There are two different things on this page. If you are working on a certification right now, the help is a review of your Personal Narrative before you file it, help with the 2026 reevaluation if you are already certified, or, once you hold a DBE, adding MBE, WBE, DVBE, SB or SB-PW to reach contracting programmes the DBE alone does not. If instead you have won work and hit a requirement you did not expect, the two reference guides below cover surety bonds and business insurance — we do not sell either, and we earn nothing when you buy them.
